Installation
First, you need a UserStyle manager that supports installing UserCSS userstyle.
- Stylus for Google Chrome , Mozilla Firefox or Opera (recommended).
Then, to install the Dark-WhatsApp UserStyle, click on the button below:
Once the raw wa.user.styl
file is open in the browser, Stylus will open a new tab showing some basic information & options:
- Click on:
- “Install style” to initially install the style.
- The button will be labeled “Reinstall style” if the style is already installed.
- Or, it’ll be labeled as “Update style” if the style is already installed, and it needs to be updated.
- The “Check for updates” checkbox.
- Check this box if you want the style to automatically update.
- “Install style” to initially install the style.
- Review the remaining information as desired.
If the installation is successful, it will be followed by the text “Style Installed”. Once installed, you will be redirected to Stylus’ editor page with the newly installed/updated UserStyle loaded. Close this if you don’t want or need to modify the style.
Similar to the full version, only with no configuration options.
This is only meant to be used with extensions that don’t support Stylus-lang and/or external projects. As such, its purpose is to provide you with the core functionality of Dark-WhatsApp without the need to compile it on your own.
Stylish is only supported through userstyles.org
- USo is still the largest repository for themes despite all the issues. Do not use this version unless you absolutely have to.
- For further reading on the subject, please visit What is the “Stylus” extension and how does it work? on Stylus’ own wiki.
- A port of this theme is available in the dcferreira/franz-themes repository.
- If you want to install it manually, check dcferreira/franz-themes/#1 for more info.
- See the section below if you’d like to compile your own.
Check the info provided in How to compile Stylus-lang to CSS on FAQ page for how to use whatsapp.sh tool.
You’re done, unless you want to customize colors and/or other features of Dark-WhatsApp. If that is the case, visit configuration page for more information.
