Fixing Windows issues

This page is dedicated to fixing common issues on Windows 10/11.

The guides here are tested on Windows 11, but the same fixes should be applicable to Windows 10

• "Failed to apply modpack"

  • Make sure that you enabled developer mode in your windows settings
  • Why is this required? Quadrant uses something called symbolic links (or symlinks), they are required in order to let you modify contents of a modpack without duplicating the files in 2 different directories. Symlinks are very similar to shortcuts, with one big difference: apps don't see symlinks, for them a symlink to another directory is the same thing as a directory.

• The game doesn't launch

  • Make sure you're using the Microsoft Store version of the Minecraft Launcher. The legacy Windows 7/8.1 launcher is not supported by Quadrant.
