Overview

Profile+ help you quickly look up colleagues, understand org structure and roles, and learn about open positions. The ability to filter by project and expertise creates new opportunities for like-minded people to find one another and connect. You can update your profile right from within Teams and express your personality by adding a video. Once you find someone you’d like to meet or collaborate with, it’s easy to introduce yourself in chat, give that person a call, or schedule a Teams meeting. Refer here for more detailed view of the feature.

Profile+ is a template application built on the Datatverse for Teams on the Power Platform. Once installed, it can be customized and extended by the installer of the application.

Installing

Detailed documentation for installation can be found in the Documents folder. There are two ways to install the solution:

Recommended: Install in Teams

This is the easiest and quickest method to get started with this app template. The provisioning is fully automated once the process starts and may take upto 2 - 3 minutes. You will get the option to chose which Teams team you'd like to install this application in. Refer to these easy step-by-step instructions on how to get started with Profile Plus app.

If this is the first Power Apps in the team, a new Dataverse for Teams environment will be provisioned, the app installed, automatically shared with all members of the team and tabbed to the channel you had picked in the first step. You will be able to edit the app after installation by going to the Power Apps app.

Note that this provisions the 'managed' solution in the Teams environment. This means that you can take advantage of any future updates being made to the application by reinstalling the application (follow same steps as original installation).

Import the solution as unmanaged:

This option is for advanced makers already familiar with solutions and environments concepts in Dataverse. You can import the solution into Dataverse for Teams or Dataverse as unmanaged. By doing so, you get an unmanaged solution and will be able to make changes to all components of the application -- including underlying tables. Note that you will not be able to take advantage of future upgrades when importing solution as unmanaged.

Contributing

This project welcomes contributions and suggestions for extension scenarios. Please submit ideas for extending this application to unique scenarios within the 'SampleExtensions' folder. As you submit these ideas, create a new folder within that section and add resources (flow, canvas app codebase etc.) along with detailed instructions on how to add the extension to the app.

At this time, we are not accepting contributions to the core template app.

Most contributions require you to agree to a Contributor License Agreement (CLA) declaring that you have the right to, and actually do, grant us the rights to use your contribution. For details, visit https://cla.opensource.microsoft.com.

When you submit a pull request, a CLA bot will automatically determine whether you need to provide a CLA and decorate the PR appropriately (e.g., status check, comment). Simply follow the instructions provided by the bot. You will only need to do this once across all repos using our CLA.
