A docker image containing Pandoc and the EisVogel template to generate pdf files from markdown.
Using this image is as easy as:
- Run
docker pull survivorbat/pandoc-eisvogel:latest
- Run
docker run --rm -e OUTPUT_PATH='my_compiled_document.pdf' -v <directory-you-want-to-compile>:/data survivorbat/pandoc-eisvogel:latest
A few moments later the compiled pdf called my_compiled_document.pdf will appear in the directory. This document will include ALL markdown files it can find in the specified directory.
You can define the following options using environment variables:
- OUTPUT_PATH: The path to output the file to, can be anywhere within the current folder
- DEBUG: Defining this variable as anything will enable debug mode and echo the contents of the resulting markdown file before its compilation
- Embedding images is not as easy as it should be, since you can't reference images outside of the working directory
