Whatever you give to life, It gives back. - Anonymous

You do not have to be a super developer before you can contribute to open source projects, in fact, its the other way around.

After learning a language, the rules, the syntax and all the methods, how best can you practice until you become perfect?

By contributing to a flexible platform that allows mistakes, changes and collaboration. Open source is exactly that.

As you give your attention and knowledge to the open source community, it gives you back its attention and knowledge, and that is a lot of attention.

To get started:

  • Check through the [list of projects](https://github.com/devcenter-square/beginner-guide/wiki/Project List) and pick one to contribute to.
  • Go through the README.md and the CONTRIBUTING.md files on the repo for the project you want to contribute to, to see what it is about and how to contribute to it.
  • Look out for the To Do sections for features you can contribute to in the README.md.
  • Check the issues page for any unresolved issue and the project page to see if there any active projects with TODOs, ongoing for that repo.
  • Also go through the DC-Square Chat Channel Guide to know how best to engage in the discussions around that project.
