Netflix Eureka is a service registry and discovery server that is used by Netflix's cloud infrastructure to manage the location and availability of services within its system. It is a critical component of Netflix's service-oriented architecture (SOA) and is responsible for managing the registration and discovery of services in a dynamic and scalable way.

Eureka was developed by Netflix to solve the challenges of service discovery in a cloud-based environment. As services are added or removed, Eureka automatically updates its registry, allowing other services to discover and communicate with them. This makes it easier for developers to build and deploy new services, as they don't have to worry about hardcoding IP addresses or other connection details.
