Brief notes from the meeting:

Attendees: @ChrisC, @meyerweb, @nairnandu, @jgraham, @dandclark, @chrishtr, @nt1m, @gsnedders, @tantek

Notes

  • nairnandu: quick discussion on Scrollbar Styling tests don't work with overlay scrollbars #898
    • gsnedders: quick context - default config is to use an overlay scrollbar. The current test suite cannot force a classic scrollbar to be used during execution. This needs to be solved at a WPT level and needs an RFC.
    • jgraham: on non-windows platforms the default is overlay scrollbar. Agree that we dont enforce the use of classic scrollbar. If we can find a workaround for Mac, we would prefer to not remove tests
    • gsnedders: all bots have been configured to use classic scrollbar now for MacOS.
  • Interop 2025 proposal selection: Champion selection
    • gsnedders: lets submit a PR for the proposed date changes
    • jgraham: Done - Update selection process dates #900
    • jgraham:assuming we want to include any mobile testing - we could have specific focus areas where we score only the mobile results (and not desktop results). The mobile specific focus areas might have a different set of browsers (edge mobile as an example is an open question). We should talk about how we want to handle those cases.
    • nairnandu: in the last meeting, we decided to continue review of mobile proposals and take a decision closer to the end of the year when we will likely have more clarity
    • jgraham: at this time, with the mobile testing investigation there is reasonable confidence to have basic infra ready, sometime early next year
  • Next steps
    • With the updated timeline in context, all organizations will share their list of focus areas to champion
    • No changes in meeting time, next week, as DST ends in Europe
