Welcome

Welcome to the voiceinteraction wiki! Here's where the Voice Interaction Community Group collaborates on ideas, including use cases, requirements, and draft specifications.

Interactive Virtual Assistant Standardization

Some of the efforts of this group are centered around standardization of Interactive Virtual Assistants (IVA).

An interactive virtual assistant (IVA) is a conversational, computer-generated character that simulates a conversation to deliver voice- or text-based information to a user via a Web, kiosk or mobile interface. An IVA incorporates natural-language processing, dialogue control, domain knowledge and a visual appearance (such as photos or animation) that changes according to the content and context of the dialogue. The primary interaction methods are text-to-text, text-to-speech, speech-to-text and speech-to-speech.

The following sub-page aims at defining use vases for IVAs.
