Sorry, I have no plains to create application VM's
LXC's use the host’s kernel rather than emulating a full operating system, they require less overhead

I just want to mention that with a VM, you dont have to worry about kernel level error in any of you LXC containers, but since we are installing each "small" application into a new LXC it shouldnt be a problem, However another way would be to create a VM + rootless docker and run your stuff there and with just 1 VM you wont have any real overhead and docker runs "better" in a VM (not per my experience, but from what people say) especially volumes and what not.

What are the general thoughts on 1 VM and Docker that runs everything we need?

I am not a Docker / Linux guy and I potentially have absolutely 0 idea what I am talking about.

So I personally think those would be cool to have a good single line script for:

• Photoprism - selfhosted google photos alternative.
• To add to Jellyfin - Sonarr + Radarr + Bazzar
• Paperless-ng document organizer.
• No idea how that could be pulled off, but Samba share in LXC?
• Visual Studio Code This version differs from a normal VS Code since You don't need to install it. You can as well use https://vscode.dev/ but it's not local.
• RSS-Bridge Generate RSS feeds from websites missing it.
• Huginn Honestly it's easier to ask what it can't do :)
• Nitro Sniper A piece of software to yoink discord nitros for You

And now to the more odd stuff:

• Something really specific - RSS reader for discord in form of a bot MonitoRSS
• Something I will try to do myself later on, but I think is a cool idea: Rendering server - Adobe Media Encoder - it requires own license etc, but from little I read on it You can actually use ffmpeg with "frameserver" and use server to render files for You so You can actually use your PC at that time :)

I would also really want to thank You for sharing all of these scripts as open source! <3

For Samba share - you can create script to setup Samba share on the pve host itself. I've done it manualy. But script woul be nice. Like you will provide the name of zfs pool or folder and the name of share.

I feel like there's a decent interest for a Jellyfin/Radarr/Sonarr/Torrent/Samba etc combo. That'll allow for a proper media server in little to no time, also for non-professionals. (and would save me about two days of experimenting) :)

If you're looking for a vanilla Docker install, I'd suggest installing Home Assistant Container LXC and remove Home Assistant, leaving only Docker and Portainer.

Just enable Container nesting on your LXC Container and you can use Docker normaly. Spinning up lots of Docker containers inside

How about Firefly III? A free and open source personal finance manager. The setup is clearly documented but it has many manual steps. Looks ideal for a script but unfortunately I'm not a scripting wizard myself 😄
It also has a data importer to import data directly from your bank account via a 3rd party provider.

I know there is an Odoo Turnkey available, but it would be great to have a bit more control over the Odoo install with one of the the @tteck style helper scripts.

For instance some issues with Odoo Turnkey:

• Debian 11 instead of 12 (or Ubuntu 22.04 for easy WKHTMLTOPDF install)
• v14 Odoo which isn't even officially supported by Odoo any longer
• Community only, no option to install the Odoo Enterprise requirements and repository
• Installs Postgres by default, but maybe Postgres is running on a separate dedicated server and not needed on the Odoo container
• Does not give you opportunity to choose the container ID, networking, ram, hd size, etc like the tteck scripts do

There are some Odoo install scripts out there which could be used as a starting point. For instance this great script will do a good install of Odoo v17 Community on a vanilla Ubuntu 22.04 LXC, but it needs some updating to work for Enterprise installs because I think there are some issues with the requirements for Enterprise that the script is not addressing correctly.

Would be awesome to use a combination of a ProxMox Ubuntu LXC container helper script in combination with an underlying Odoo install script.

AnyType is as an open source alternative to Obsidian. I think by default it does a lot more or something. Tried it myself early on but wasn't impressed compared to Obsidian. It looks like this might be the syncing aspect of AnyType?
