Renaming the project #20
Comments
That would go against naming conventions of a .NET project, even though it's a Unity project, however they follow the same naming conventions. Scribble.rs Pad is the name I've decided for this product to distinguish between the official Scribble.rs client and this product.
But then you have two projects that are named
Lol, just come up with a new catchy name, then I might reconsider renaming this project as well. |
The naming convention has no relevance for an enduser application. And the "product" is Scribble.rs. And "Scribble.rs Pad" is another official client, so I think it makes sense to allow users to draw the connection here. The projects won't have the same name, just the software "shipped" to users. You don't see Twitter having "Twitter Mobile" and "Twitter". Or any other big companies project for that matter. It's imply confusing and obfuscates the connection. |
Are you talking about how the output file is named? I can change the output path to |
Both the repository name and the displayed name. |
But repository name equals project name. |
The project name is not descriptive and I'd prefer it to be technical. E.g. smth like
scribble.rs-unity-client
.The published executables, in this case our apk and it's display name should just be
Scribble.rs
in order to be able to draw a clear connection between the two projects.Putting that aside, I am considering to rename scribblers as well. Not sure whether that's a smart move or not, but we've lost the domain and I ain't willing to pay those assholes a minimum of 200$ just to get the domain back + the yearly costs.
