The capacitive button that should activate the PQi toggle almost always activates Google search. Making PQi toggle the standard action when using the capacitive search button doesn't work.
This is an important issue because this way the Adam cannot be used as an e-reader. And that would make the Adam still a good tablet to use.

You have to "long press" the button to toggle PQi screen. When not set, the Adam asks about what to do (google search or PQi toggle). Setting it to always "PQi Toggle" works fine.

Dear people,

Thank you very much for your information!

Indeed the first time after the installation of the ROM "long press" worked
and the Adam brought up the choice between Google Search or PQi toggle. But
after that the setting for "PQi toggle" didn't work and the next time I
used the search button it only gave Google Search. I reinstalled the ROM
and tried all the possible variations and the result is always the same:
the search button only leads to Google search. I can' t find any other way
in putting on the PQi screen. If there is any help on this I' d be very
greatful.

I think you have to reset the default action for this button.
On an english system, go to Settings > Apps > All > Voice Search (or PQI Toggle, or Google Search if that's what's opening for you) and click the "Clear defaults" button. The next time you "long press" the button, the choice will be once again available.
Hope this helps.

Thank you again for your respons. I tried your advice before (and again
after your e-mail). In the CM9Beta2 version I could clear the default
settings, but the choice PQI / Google Search still didn't appear. In the
CM9 Beta3 version the button for restoring the default settings is blanked
out. Yesterday I tried the Mr. Guy PQi fix for HC. This doesn't work
either. I think the solution needs some programming in the ROM.

Kind regards,
Edwin

To be blunt: nobody else has this problem so you must be doing something wrong. F.e. do you always longpress? You should! The light should then go out, without an interface. A shortpress brings up the search. Did you install properly through nvflash? Which version of the rom did you install? And last. First put your question on the forum before reporting it on github!!

Sorry I see you installed beta3. Did you nvflash beta1 first?
Do you have problems in programs or on your homescreen?

Dear people,

After 3 reinstalls I solved the PQi problem. I keep my Adam in a case,
which also has a usb keyboard. When I disconnected the keyboard PQi toggle
worked fine. So it seems that USB devices can have effect on this function.
Thank you for your efforts and I hope my findings can be of any use.

Kind regards,
Edwin
