Writing blog with .ipynb

Dear all,

Recently, I have tried to create blog posts with ablog extentsion and pydata-sphinx-theme. The blog posts work well with markdown files. However, when I tried to make the post from Jupyter Notebook (.ipynb), it didn't appear in the postlist. Then, I got the following warning message ~/demoblog/blog/2022/2022-01-01-ipynb_blog_post.ipynb: WARNING: document isn't included in any toctree done.

However, I found that the html file for that specified notebook file was generated in my final _build/html/blog folder.

Therefore, I would like to ask if there is any special configuration for notebook files. Actually, I am quite new to Sphinx. I hope someone can help me check my conf.py file to see if I miss some configurations.

This page says you need nbsphinx and I don't see it in your conf.py. Also pay attention to cell order and where to put the ablog metadata within the notebook... the SunPy README gives clearer guidance than the ablog docs IMO:

Hello @drammock, thank you so much for your suggestions. I have changed the metadata of my notebook file based on Sunpy README. Then, the warning message disappeared. However, the blog post from that notebook is still not included postlist.

As I mentioned earlier, the HTML page for that notebook is generated in the final _build folder. However, it is just not included in the postlist.

I have tried several versions of ablog and pydata-sphinx-theme, but it still does not work. Now, I don't know what else to do. I hope you might have other suggestions 🙏

My only other guess is that you should remove the :exclude: line from your ipynb post's metadata. If that doesn't work I think you should probably seek help from ablog developers. It appears that the problem is not related to pydata-sphinx-theme --- the site builds and looks correct, the problem appears to be ablog-specific.

Yes, I just tried to remove that :exclude:, but it still does not work 😔 . Now, I don't know what else to do. I might open another Q&A in ablog repository to get help from ablog developers. Thank you so much for all your suggestions. 🙏
