Priority

Expected within six months of the MVP launch or sooner if possible.

Description

Support for harvesting data via OAI-PMH has been identified (within COAR community framework, but also by other agents and communities) as an essential characteristic for research data repositories. Datacite can work with this, but we may need to investigate further to understand how it can be supported with our schema.

This ticket is evolving. Please feel free to enhance it.

COAR is a prominent community (kind of like a powerful lobby) for policies and best practices regarding research repositories. Their updated best practices in the COAR Community Framework for Good Practices in Repositories prioritizes OAI-PMH support. It's listed as an essential characteristic for discoverability.
