People can't hear me

Open voice chat settings (V by default), go to the Audio tab and make sure you have the right microphone selected.

Click Enable microphone testing. If you can hear your voice, then everything is good.

Otherwise, click on the Select microphone button and choose the right microphone.

If you are on macOS, then your Minecraft application is not asking for microphone permission, and can't your microphone because of that.

There is a fix for this issue made for Simple Voice Chat mod, but it also works with Plasmo Voice: https://github.com/henkelmax/simple-voice-chat/tree/1.18.1/macos

It works on default settings. If it doesn't work, delete the config and let the plugin generate a new config with default settings.
