This is quite a new idea, not highest priority, as it might involve a lot of development work:

A cool feature would be if a user could select certain contacts to share with another user or group (instead of sharing one whole addressbook).

For organizations that might be handy.

Maybe not single contacts because this would probably be hard to keep track of.
All of the things you have in files app for single file shares have also to be there.

But how about a sharing possibility of contact groups?
So it would be possible to tag contacts (add to groups like: shared business, shared friends, shared Jon Doe or something like this) and you can share contacts to these groups simply by adding contacts to these groups.
Further more it could be possible to share groups to users outside owncloud (public shares, where you only need to know the share link).

Maybe this can be more easily be implemented because you only need one shared link for a group and don't have the need to add code for keep track of which single contact you shared to whom.
And it would also be very intuitive in GUI to implement (only one shared link GUI menu for every contacts group like in files app or calendar).
