@kcoley Did you hit a dead end on this issue? I've noticed Mixamo.com uses multiple armature for their animation sequence... getting this resolved would potentially open up a great workflow for creating character animations very quickly. I've had partial success merging the armatures and rebinding the mesh using maximo assets... but still not there yet.
@wave-electron nice find. I hit some walls with this one as I was not able to get it to generate properly without some work in terms of merging glTF skins that may have share joints and mapping this to a referenced usd skeleton that would be instanced across multiple meshes. At the moment, it seems to be easier to work this out at authoring time, though I plan on making some updates to the skeleton export from the new set of glTF-asset-generator models
