Support for Threads (Feature Request) #75
Comments
Thank you for the request! It's theoretically possible as long as we can just replace the user extraction part! If version X is stable and I have the capacity and motivation, I would like to take it on. Contributions are also welcome. |
Could this be adapted for Mastodon too? |
Would also love to have this extension work for mastodon - the scraping technique takes longer, but prevents the need for twitter api keys. The project could then become sort of anything-follower-bridge. This with the ability to automatically add all followers listed via this script - or a dedicated action button in the extension - would be great! |
I think it is important to make this work with as many contact methods as possible in both directions. |
I'm working on this issue in #117. |
I've tested the support-threads branch and this works great! 🥳 I noticed that Instagram's UI for displaying followers and followings is almost identical to that of Threads — would it not be trivial to support Instagram -> Bluesky too? I don't know how much extra work would be involved — should I open this as a separate feature request? |
Mastodon web already supports exporting your followed accounts to a CSV file, so adding a dialog to import the CSV into the extension and searching bluesky from there would be a better pick for something like that. |
The purpose of Sky-follower-bridge currently is to import followings FROM twitter (or WIP threads) TO bluesky, so the closest feature for mastodon would be to import a csv generated by sky-follower-bridge into mastodon, rather than exporting csv from mastodon - at least while that bridge is mostly dedicated towards bluesky. If at some point it targets an anything-to-anything bridge, then the mastodon csv export would be useful. Just added a dedicated issue to track support for mastodon here #124 |
I'm not sure where best to post this, but I really love this tool and was wondering if it would be possible to either:
Currently there isn't a working tool to do this for Threads. (Nor for Mastodon!) I think this would be a great feature to help people migrate from Twitter.
