I think it's a cool feature that data from private repos is also considered. However, I would like to only include data from my public repos. Is this possible?

I read through the GitHub graphql documentation and found out that I can just add the line privacy: PUBLIC to github-stats.py and only public repos will be considered!
A better way to customize this would probably be through a secret like the EXCLUDED customizations, so I will leave this open for now. But anyone using github-stats has forked/copied the repo anyways, and can, therefore, make these changes easily themselves.
