Tumblthree will not open up, insisting that .netframework 4.6 is not installed on Windows 8.1

tumblthree has refused to open up despite my best efforts to install .netframework 4.6 for the past 3 hours.

4.6 has already installed and the application refuses to open. I also tried rebooting the computer as well.

I don't know much about the lifecycle of the application (yet) but these would probably help someone else help you:

• Check for a .Net Error in Event Viewer.
• Post a screenshot of the error you are seeing otherwise.
• What are your machine specs:
  • Windows Version and Build Number (run winver)
  • 32b/64b?
• Where are you trying to execute the application from?

I'm trying to execute the application in the C: section in my user folder

My version of Windows is Windows 8 (not 8.1) version 6.3 (Build 9600)

My windows version is 64b

I installed the latest version and the version the software wanted me to install.

What a painfully vague error (assuming .Net is actually installed currently).

Some things to try:

• Verify that this is WIndows 8 and not 8.1. It looks like 8.1 from your screenshot, the start button is a big giveaway. Windows 8.0 is End of life and no longer supported by Microsoft. I'm 99.99% sure build 9600 is 8.1, even if Winver says 8.
• Ensure you are up to date with Windows Update.
• (longshot) Try adding .Net 3.5 support. This is done through Programs and Features in Control Panel under "Turn Windows Features On and Off". I haven't verified the dependency tree but it could be a case of a dependency missing the v2 or v3 runtime.
• Install .Net 4.7.2, it should be inclusive of 4.6.x https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework-runtime
• After installing .Net make sure you restart.

It is windows 8.1

.net 3.5 support already exists and fully installed

I've installed .net 4.7.2 and the same error pops up no matter what even if you restart the computer.

I've also tried older versions of tumblthree but they don't do anything.

I've just found out that for some unknown reason, despite installing netframe work 4.6 many times, the full version is not installed.
