Is there a website that lists Janet packages with description and maybe search or categories? Is someone working on that? (An example - https://www.ruby-toolbox.com.)

Not sure how much it's being maintained at the moment, but there is this: https://goto-engineering.github.io/powered-by-janet/

There is not such a page. Yet I guess we should have one. What do you think, @bakpakin? Should I start a discussion on this subject?

There is already a package listing in https://github.com/janet-lang/pkgs (this repo). I suppose there could be a website for browsing but a lot of people have not bothered to add their packages to the official listing.

This list has several problems from a user (developer, not machine) perspective:

  • Packages don't have a description.
  • Packages are not linked, so it's not easy to visit a package page. A user needs to copy and paste and URL (in most browsers, without any plugins.)
  • Packages are not organized in categories.
  • There's no search.
  • There's no any additional information (age of the package, last update, number of issues, etc.)

If there was such website backed by the official package listing, maybe more people would add a package to the listing?
