When a user makes a selection, show what they would be drawing in the selection then finalize it once they deselect.

Challenging because

Should have a way to deactivate it. Thinking of some kind of select button that does just that - and allows users to draw with their keyboard instead of the palette
Running the cursor off the canvas causes the selection to not capture caret positions correctly
