The getting started page doesn't mention if the desktop app is suitable for home use over a home internet connection.
Bandwidth: Are there easy ways to limit bandwidth so it doesn't saturate a home ISP bandwidth? Are there ways to limit the total data per time period (e.g. per week, per day - to support people with metered connections?).
Storage space: How much disk space will it use? (all available - grow without limit), or is there a way to designate a maximum storage usage?
Always-on?: Is the desktop client (or, node it installs, it says) compatible with PCs that are routinely turned off, or, even if left on normally, frequently rebooted for updates etc?
Performance impact: How is the impact on performance when using a PC for other tasks? (web surfing, word processing, gaming). If it would adversely effect gaming performance, can it be usefully paused and resumed?
All of that information would help people figure out if it is worthwhile to run an IPFS desktop (node?) on their home PC to participate in the ecosystem, or if it is really meant for large commercial installations or dedicated servers in data centers only.
Thanks!
