when you delete a file in the console with this application it takes up the full screen flashing all sorts of "deleting all data" in red and green and black and 1s and 0s going everywhere.

(it should also run this animationy thing for an arbtirary/perhaps random amount of time.)

this idea would also be good just as a standalone app, sort of a "boss walks by and want to look like a hacker" kind of thing

ahaha i'd forgotten about that blog

i think there are many matrix-style apps; i like the idea of this being a functional program that i can actually use all the time; and it just so happens to really hollywoody/flamboyantly do the thing that i want to do.

related: maybe whenever you open a program, it could launch in a giant exploding fireball, michael-bay style. (and also when closing programs.)

it could be a suite of tools that does this. hollywood-o-fies your computer.

  1. explosions, whenever opening or closing programs.
  2. big flashy things for deleting
  3. something for searching through files? ack-grep already looks cool, if it finds a few results.

what should happen when creating new files? any other operations? i guess killing processes could also generate explosions.
