Chart narratives

Currently some of our work need someone to translate the main intent, insights to others. With minor augmentations, this can be a better experience for the end users.

Consider the example Service requests.

  1. Currently, the narrator sets the stage first: explain what nodes, edges, color, thickness mean. While this information is present in the information icon, we need the application to narrate this via annotations, stepper animations.
  2. That would mean building up to the main visual via small interactions.

stage of SR

Each circle represents one stage of service requests

top arcs represent forward flow

Top arcs represent forward flow (from left to right)

bottom arcs represent backward flow

Bottom arcs represent backward flow (from right to left)

Similarly, highlight the heaviest edge to explain what it means.

Users will pick a single component that has pre-determined elements. These can be built-up step-by-step. We can allow users to build the sequence, and annotate it.
