[client] Key combination as "escape key" #917
Comments
The LG escape key is not just to enter/exit capture, holding it gives you key shortcuts/combinations. Your proposal of using a combination of keys for this would break this feature and access to all of the extra functionality that comes with it.
I suggest you replace your keyboard instead of proposing to change a project just to work around your faulty hardware.
Any key is available, for instance on my laptop I do not have a print screen key, so instead I map it to the right control key as I do not use it in my day to day usage. I suggest you observe what keys you are using on your keyboard and isolate one that goes unused which can be used as your escape key. |
Can i change increase and decrease mouse sensitivity keys from "insert" and "delete" to "up" and "down"? |
The main reason why i suggested it is that default SPCIE client use ctrl+alt to release input, vmware workstation also do so, qemu gtk display use (ctrl+alt)+g. But how i can see input control is not the only command that I will use, and pressing a combination of two buttons might be easier than a combination of three, I don't know. |
I will think about this and see if it's feasible but it will be low priority for now. |
Here I did some trick (because my keyboard doesn't have scroll lock as many of "gaming" keyboards doesn have) and used the right Ctrl as the key. I was previously using \ but I soon figured out that its a bad key for windows. I agree that an option to use multiple keys would be better, at least for grab / release the LG window. Maybe different keys for grabbing vs opening the menu? |
It would be great if you could use a key combination as "escape key".
In virt-manager and vmware I can use ctrl+alt to release and grab input, so I would prefer to use the same combination in looking glass. In addition the Scroll Lock key does not work on my keyboard and it was very difficult for me to find the right key to replace it since many of them are used in combination with the "escape key" for different actions.
