Hi @santilland and colleagues,

for the GTIF energy transition > solar energy, could we look into the following adjustments/enhancements:

  • integrate the albedo proxy as an additional constraint variable. Not sure what the latest update was, there was also a separate issue, CC: @jamesemwheeler

  • change the layer name in the layer listing from "solar energy" to "Global Horizontal Irradiation" && do the same thing for the dataset metadata header on the right panel (currently "SOLAR ENERGY") -- first screenshot below

  • look into optimising the default stretch of the Global Horizontal Irradiation layers? the current stretch does not allow recognizing little nuances.. It should look a bit more like the WPD at 100m turbine height (I think we did a piecewise linear stretch)

@Patrick1G i am adding relevant updates at https://gtif-testing.eox.at/gtif_albedo/
Marking changed things with ticks in the starting issue.

For name and color legend generation i would like to first confirm:

  • is this would be the rewording you would like to have?
    image
  • could you review the updated color scale ranges in the branch and let me know if they better fit the expectations? I will also copy some screenshots here, maybe that provides enough info already:

Hi @santilland

  • No - I just wanted the name "solar energy" in the info panel changed to Global Horizontal Irradiation top match the name used in the analysis panel

  • as for the color scales, they are all much better than the present ones!!
