OSMAnd plugin

This is a feature request for this project to create a plugin for the OsmAnd app, such that lib.reviews reviews would appear when an OsmAnd user opens a POI of a business that has reviews on lib.reviews.

Why?

Currently the reach of lib.reviews is very limited, as is the content contribution.

The lib.reviews data would be much more accessible (and contributions would be much greater), if users had a Google-Maps-Reviews-Like experience in the maps apps they already use.

There's lots of users contributing map data on OsmAnd (eg adding hotels & restaurants, adding their business hours, uploading photos of their storefront & lobbies). Many of these contributors would be likely to also type-up an opinionated review of the business for lib.reviews if the OsmAnd UI gave them the ability to do so.

Solution

The solution to this ticket would be to write a plugin for OsmAnd

When the plugin is enabled, a user who clicks on details for a given POI would see a section titled Reviews . This section would

1. show a list of lib.reviews reviews for the given business, and
2. allow the user to click Add review, where they can type and submit a review of the business to lib.reviews

Further Context

Integrating external content into OsmAnd is something that was also done recently with Mapillary.

Open Street Maps doesn't itself maintain street-level images, but OsmAnd users now have a Google-Street-View-Like experience in OsmAnd (with open-source, user-contributed image data sets) thanks to integration with mapillary.com

This integration was achieved by writing a mapillary plugin for OsmAnd

When a user clicks on a given location, they see a section titled Online photos. This section

1. show a list of photos for the given area taken from mapillary, and
2. presents the user with an add photos button to add photos directly to mapillary

The OsmAnd mapillary plugin lets the user browse mapillary photo data directly in the app for points of interest	The OsmAnd mapillary plugin lets the user upload new photo content to mapillary
