I copied my cups configuration from a backup. Of course, cups works perfectly fine itself.

However, switchboard-plug-printer crashes when I try to open it. Here is the error I get:

% switchboard
[INFO 21:35:42.779552] Application.vala:153: Paramètres du système version: 2.0
[INFO 21:35:42.779599] Application.vala:155: Kernel version: 4.13.0-32-generic
**
ERROR:arraylist.c:967:gee_array_list_real_get: assertion failed: (index < _size)
zsh: abort (core dumped) switchboard

There is no issue with printing and other dialog boxes like pantheon-print, or configuring printers with system-config-printer.

I 'thumbed up' because i have the same issue...click on switchboard-plug-printer does nothing.
The error does not exist for so long yet. Updates in the last 4 weeks?

~$ switchboard
[INFO 20:02:06.556671] Application.vala:153: Systemeinstellungen version: 2.0
[INFO 20:02:06.556712] Application.vala:155: Kernel version: 4.15.0-041500-generic
**
ERROR:arraylist.c:967:gee_array_list_real_get: assertion failed: (index < _size)
Abgebrochen (Speicherabzug geschrieben)

UPDATE:

Since i created a new (admin) user account switchboard-plug-printer is working again. I don't know what was causing the problem...also i had problems with opening network and sound settings from wingpanel, but thats also gone with the new user account.

Same issue here. @J0AR I'll try creating another admin account as you did

Solved in another way: used system-config-printer to remove all the configured printers and switchboard-plug-printer started working again

That worked for me as well.
