I live in Austria but like to have everything in English, which means that the language in elementaryOS is set to English but the formats are set to Austrian defaults. Unfortunately the dates are displayed in German for me, which I find really weird, given that the language is set to English. For example: "Do, Mai 7" instead of "Thu, May 7".
This happens not only in the Language & Region section of the System Settings app but throughout the OS: in the datetime panel (at the top middle of the screen) but also in the Calendar app. The names of days & months are in German.
