What Happened?

Using GParted, the icon does not seem to show up in the dock when i open the app
Only if pinned

PKExec asking for a password when attempting to open GParted do show up though.

Open GParted

Expected Behavior

Theres the GParted icon in the dock

OS Version

8.x (Early Access)

Session Type

Secure Session (Wayland)

Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)

The "app id" reported by gala is window:some numeric id so the cause here is that we don't have a valid app id we can associate with an app info so we skip the window entirely.
The question now is should we show a placeholder launcher? The only thing that could do would be focusing the window i.e. no launching so no pinning etc. because we don't know anything about the executable. We could go through quite a bit of effort to at least find the executable but I'm not sure that's worth it given that it's not very common and e.g. it is guaranteed to work with flatpak apps which is the main way of distributing apps on elementary OS 🤷
