I have a ROG Zephyrus S GX531. It's not supported by afc, and I know that it doesn't support fan curves. It didn't on Windows with Armoury Crate, and asusctl reports the same.
But at least, Armoury Crate did let me change the fan speed, somewhat, by creating custom performance profiles with a fixed fan speed. (Or something like that. Yeah, it's dumb. Go figure.) So I know it's possible.
afc-scout brings up possible addresses, but the numbers there don't look like temperatures.
Most values are just a simple incrementing sequence.
So, how can I check if an address is relevant?
Does the fact that this model doesn't support fan curves (at least through the two tools I know) mean afc won't work with it?
What's funny though is that just scanning some addresses makes the fan speed go down for a second. But those don't seem to carry an interesting value either.
