It looks like in ES analysis jobs have their CMSSW version in the CRAB_JobSW attribute, but production jobs don't have anything like that. Would it be possible to add an attribute called JobSW for all jobs to
contain the CMSSW version used? The field should be defined for any job running CMSSW.

Hi - can you open a ticket on this project: https://github.com/dmwm/WMCore

Once WMAgent provides the data, I can do this.

Great! Once that ticket closes out, I'll do the corresponding ES change to give a common attribute name between CRAB and WMAgent.

Keeping this ticket open for now.

Just to point out that we still have two fields:

  • CMSSWVersion for analysis jobs, with values such as 10_0_0
  • CMSSW_Versions for production jobs, with values such as CMSSW_9_3_6_patch1
It would be good to have a single field; I'd recommend values including "CMSSW_" to be uniform with SCRAM.

NO idea why the commit from Todor was referenced in this issue. But the WMcore ticket in #2 (comment) is now closed. @bbockelm can go ahead as per #2 (comment)
