What is LaTeX101?

LaTeX101 will be a digital learning resource - a short course or learning module that will contain resources and references that will be a resource for the basics of using LaTeX (pronounced lay-tek) - a document formatting and typesetting system for mathematics, and show how it can be used on a variety of platforms.

The intended audience is secondary mathematics teachers, a group that is currently under-served by existing LaTeX resources (of which there are many), which are primarily targeted at research mathematicians and graduate students.

Secondary mathematics teachers are increasingly required to create digital resources that have sophisticated mathematical typesetting requirements. LaTeX has been the standard for creating digital mathematics resources and is increasingly being adapted and integrated into online platforms and made available through cloud-based services.

LaTeX101 is also an experiment in creating a learning resource in GitHub. It will likely take the form of a series of HTML pages hosted in GitHub Pages, with its content initially developed here, in the GitHub Wiki.
