So, diyHue just doesn't work with Hue bulbs and app anymore in late 2023, correct?
There are 3 parts as far as I can tell: 1. diyHue (docker)
I have the diyHue container running in docker and the webUI is accessible.
2. Hue App (official)
The official Hue App is forces me to login, but it redirects me to a profile/account page, where upon login, I try to create a Hue Home but it cannot find my diyHue bridge.
3. Hue Essentials App
Hue Essentials App does find my diyHue bridge and adds it to the connected devices in the app, however, it cannot add any lights to the bridge. If I select add lights and select the diyHue bridge, it scans forever and nothing happens. If I select add lights via Phillips Hue Bluetooth, the app successfully blinks each light and adds it to the Bluetooth group in the app. None of the lights can be added to the bridge.
Errorlog:
No error log visible in the Hue App, Hue Essentials App, or in docker.
Steps to reproduce
DIYHUE
Install diyHue docker
Open web interface
Click "Lights" > Scan for lights
Nothing happens
HUE App
Open Hue App (official)
Login > Get redirected to login.meet.hue
Click "Create Home"
Scan for Hue Bridge fails.
Forced to use app in Bluetooth mode
HUE Essentials
Open Hue Essentials App
Click "Devices" > Add Device > Bridge
Enter the IP of your container running diyHue
Finds and successfully adds diyHue bridge to Essentials App.
Click "Devices"> Add device > Light
Select your diyHue bridge from the list
The app prompts you to switch on all lights for Search mode
After lights are on, the app just spins indefinitely as it searches for Hue bulbs.
Repeat step 5 (add device: light)
From the "select device" list, choose "Phillips Hue Bluetooth" instead of diyHue.
App immediately scans and finds all of my lights, one-by-one and adds them to a Bluetooth group in the app.
Lights added this way are not visible in diyHue bridge.

You are using bluetooth ligts from what i understand. Some users requested support for these lights and some work was made, but because of poor communication with the requester there was no confirmation that it work. You need bluetooth adapter device inside the container to test it. Better search the issue were this minimal progress was made.
Well, that might explain the light connectivity issue. I thought Hue bulbs supported both Bluetooth and Zigbee protocols - thanks for the info.
It doesn't matter in the end since the Bridge gets disconnected from the Essentials App so frequently that the entire thing is more or less unusable as a home utility, even if I had the correct model of bulbs.
Issue does not already exist?
I have searched and found no existing issue
