Is there a working alternative for this function? I only need the ability to TTS from HA to Echo device(s). Any guidance would be appreciated.

Do you have Node Red installed and working?
I've had NR installed for quite a while now but only just started playing around with the Amazon Alexa libraries in it. The most promising one I see right now is node-red-contrib-alexa-remore2-applestrudel which incorporates the latest Node.JS code from Apollon77. His original coding as well as code from other developers is what @alandtse used to develop AMP and alexapy.

When I first tried NR I was completely lost, not for a day but more like weeks or months!

First you install the add-on Node-RED from Home Assistant Community Add-ons:

After configuring it and getting into it, in the NR palette you add node-red-contrib-home-assistant-websocket:

Also in the palette, install node-red-contrib-alexa-remote2-applestrudel:

Then you install the NR Companion (from HACS):

Then restart HA and add that integration:

First, you need your Alexa Account configured...

If Auto Init is on, initialisation occurs when NR is started and any nodes using Alexa Account will prompt you with a URL that you manually have to open to complete proxy authentication. When that completes, it passes the resulting cookie back to NR via This IP: Port. The cookie is then saved to File Path and initialization should complete and status of the nodes using the account will be ready or listening in the case of the Event node(s).

As for persistent values config and `persistent value, those nodes are from this library:

I thought I needed that but in hindsight, the HA entity/device Node-RED Last Alexa that I'm creating will retain/restore the previous value after a NR restart as long as Resend state and attributes is enabled:

For Alexa Account config, there are three possible Service host: values suggested settings but I think the example is incomplete.
If none of these fit your locale, I'd have to try and figure out what to use.

Same for Push Dispatch Host but it should default internally to the correct one if that field is left blank.
I had to specify mine since amazon.ca was defaulting to the EU host. I issued PR 246 to fix that oversight in Apollon77/alexa-remote and it's been merged into release 7.0.5 but the applestrudel library hasn't been updated yet and is still using release 7.0.4.
