xlim=c(range(pretty(X))) to extend axes beyond data, and get ticks/labels at axis limits

Currently gsplot leaves the axis limits at the max/min of the data points:

It needs to extend the axis limits beyond the data, so that tick marks and labels are included at the extremes like this:

This can't be done in the config file.

the xaxs arg does this buffering, right? gsplot just uses a different default

There is the xaxs="s" option that is what we want, but is currently unsupported: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3422203/set-r-plots-x-axis-to-show-at-y-0
