Brief summary
The code implementing AMD support for TrenchBoot should be merged upstream to the official GRUB repository.
The scope of upstream effort includes:

  • developing fixes for the currently existing code based on the respective project maintainer's comments
  • refreshing the currently existing code to be up-to-date with respect to the repository the code is contributed to
  • communication and cooperation with the community and maintainers to solve the eventual concerns and problems arising during the review
Each iteration ends up with a new patchset version sent to GRUB mailing list.

Progress so far is as follows.

Full patchset was posted as: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/grub-devel/2024-08/msg00088.html

Then its subset of changes useful outside of DRTM context (first 7 patches and part of 11th patch) were sent separately:

First 5 patches should appear on GRUB master soon: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/grub-devel/2024-10/msg00130.html

Sent a bugfix patch separately because it's independent of the rest: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/grub-devel/2024-11/msg00011.html

Sent v2 of the main series after making some improvements to commits (the email contains more details): https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/grub-devel/2024-11/msg00000.html (just noticed that not all emails made it to the ML, resent the missing ones, so they should appear eventually)
