Taming Confusion :(

I just don't understand the taming process when I breed the foxes I'm not ending up with a tame one (and I don't know how a fox behaves when its tame. Does it work like a wolf?) I followed all the steps on your guide just can you please explain this to me my brain hurts. Please and thank u.

OKAY !! I went on a test world because I was also confused since the mod page is so vague...

Completely tamed foxes, act the same as any other pet. Following you, teleporting, and being able to sit on click

From what I can tell, foxes with a tame level of, what I assume, 0-1 are just basically normal untamed foxes.
Foxes with a level of 2-3 are domesticated still feral. They will follow you if you hold berries at most.
When you breed an offspring with a level of 4, then you will have a fully tamed, pet fox and it will follow you and teleport to you unless you sit them.

How to breed for a fox with a tame level of four (4):
Find two wild foxes and breed those two parents twice. We'll call the parents Gen1.
Take Gen1's offspring (Gen2) and breed them twice. Since Gen2 should both, at minimum, have a tame level of 1, Gen2's offspring should have a level of 2.
Continue breeding two offspring of each generation until you get a level 4 (should at max be generation 5 when you get a fully tamed fox.)
You should at most have to breed for a total of seven foxes, the seventh being tamed.
(Edit: and yes, this means you just have to do severe inbreeding but that's just Minecraft anyways)
