It does make sense to set a value like X minutes for window detection off time. Meaning that the heating will continue only X minutes after the window is closed. During this period of time, there is no way to turn on the heating early as you cannot manually override window detection. Better Thermostat shows that windows are still open.
It would be great to have a feature to continue heating.
Additional Information
I can see 2 ways of doing this:
Just a boolean flag/input to override window detection. Kind of like temporarily disabling it after a push of a button
Or another approach can be that Better Thermostat shows that windows are closed in the UI right after closing. And explicitly shows that heating is off during X minutes delay. And press of a button resumes it early. The text can be on the button too. Something like: "Windows are just closed now. Resume heating?"

What is the feature?
An option to bypass window detection off time
