Heat maps are crap... There is a reason why not a single heatmap made it into the top 15 of best maps for 2016 according to national geographic. I think you tweeted that article yourself.

I agree that we don't do much with the pitch data. The problem is that the data is in poor format. You don't reproject data for the presentation but we need to generate the data in a good grid from the beginning. And then I can to do something like this...

WOW... that guys raised the bar, or even the theme. Lifting the data layer looks amazing. I am officially in love with this legend.
