Privacy Badger leads to HTTP 500 error on Siemens Support Website #3026
Comments
Hello and thanks for opening an issue! I am unable to reproduce at this time. Could this be a sporadic server issue? Your comment at uBlockOrigin/uAssets#25745 (comment) seems to support this. Another possibility is that this has to do with Global Privacy Control (GPC). If that's the case, deactivating |
Thanks for not closing the issue immediately. I'm sorry you're unable to reproduce, I am also unable to reproduce it at the moment on my Win 10 PC. I have my Firefox browser synced between my Win 11 workstation and my Win 10 home PC. I don't know why it's not working on my Win 11 machine. This seems to be a rather finicky issue. I'll test again tomorrow. I had the same problem with the same sites for two days in a row. 4/5 tries the website failed to load. I'll check the things you recommended and come back to you! |
So, just to make sure I tested it again. I deactivated all other extensions and only left "Privacy Badger" activated. The website was broken on my Win11 PC. As you suggested I unchecked the "Send Websites the 'Global Privacy Control' and 'Do Not Track' signals" and reloaded the website, and after one or two reloads, the sites work again and keep working. Tested on both the websites I linked above. So it seems it is in fact these two signals that broke the site? I'm gonna have to check again at home on my Win10 PC, I don't know why it's only my Win11 PC. |
At this point this problem is looking like it's local to @JanB1 machine only, maybe that some firewall settings are interfering on his end. Can't reproduce the issue here too. Extensions I'm using- |
It appears the links I posted above are nor working on my device. I do know that the websites worked in Edge but not Firefox. So, I don't know if it was a combination of my extensions or something on Firefox. Either way, the problem seems to be solved? |
