Pending Request from the past that can't be declined/cleared

Messages shows a notification of 1 message, under hosting. When I go there, I see requests, but have looked at all of them. How do I clear the 1 notification?

Results:
Once I check notifications, there should be no indicator. If event requests are in the past, they should automatically expire.
