New: UI for picking color, you can change the time between appearances, and TIL there's no need for a config file...

Setup:
Run the .exe
Start your game (this program only works in windowed or fullscreen windowed mode games.)
Alt-tab back to the command line and enter "no" without quotes.
Click the top left and bottom right of your minimap when it says to.
If you want to change the color of the dot (default is red) enter "yes" without quotes when it says "Custom Color?" otherwise enter "no" without quotes.
Close the command line.

Use:
Start your game
Run the .exe
Enter "yes" without quotes.
A dot will appear near the top left of your minimap: click near it. It will disappear.
After a random period of time (3 to 60 seconds by default) the dot will appear somewhere on your minimap.
Your goal is to play your game while always watching your minimap for this dot. As soon as you notice the dot on your minimap click near it.
The longer you take to notice it, the bigger the dot becomes.
You can see exactly how long you took to notice the dot, as well as your average time, by looking at the command line.

Notes:
Any .NET after 4.0 should be all that is required to run this program.
I didn't add any error handling. If you input something you're not supposed to (e.g. clicking the top left of your minimap when it says bottom right), the program will probably crash or behave strangely.
