Downloading a .tar.gz file from the interface defaults to saving as a .tar #2

Hi @edwin5588 and team,

When downloading a .tar.gz file from a run, such as shown below
image

the default file extension in the download window appears as .tar. That is, the .gz extension is stripped in the download interface - as shown here:

I have tested in Windows 10, Mac OS and Ubuntu and received the same behavior in all OSs. This issue of course seems very trivial, but for users who are not as familiar with what is happening, they may miss this and by default download it as a .tar file, not a .tar.gz file. This is important as uploading a .tar.gz file with the wrong extension (e.g. .tar) to AmpliconRepository returns an error page, so we should ensure that by default the file extension is correct by default.

Notably, other websites do not seem to have this behavior, so I am wondering if there is something that can be done by the GenePattern Team. Example below from the UCSC website with the expected behavior for downloading a .tar.gz file:

Thanks,
Jens

Update: seems like this is not an issue in Safari, but it does exist with Google Chrome.

Also only seems to affect files downloaded from the beta server.
